Events

Building on the experience gained at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, we believe events are the best way to not only share ideas, build community, and strengthen support systems, but also address emotional, mental, and economic stress, pain, and hurt. In this regard, we believe in creating space for identity development, social exploration, and personal freedom and independence. As result, we have a 4-tiered event management structure that seeks to bring together specific people, professions, and career experiences. 

First, we seek to bring together People with Disabilities, Individuals impacted by the legal system, College and University Students, or People who identify as Christians or with another established religious tradition. Second, we seek to bring together Correctional, Probation, and Police Officers. Lawyers, Judges, and Court Administrators. Third, we seek to bring together US Military Veterans and their Family Members, Individuals impacted by childhood trauma, addiction, abuse, or neglect. People in Recovery or have participated in a mental or behavioral health program in the past. Last but certainly, not least, we like to bring together members of the public who have experienced depression, anxiety, loneliness, or social isolation together to connect, build, and sustain relationship overtime. 

Each event builds on ideas, theories, and approaches explored in the coaching and teaching curriculums explored in our program. Hence, events are structured to allow for deep explorations of health, truth, justice, and freedom as relates to our lives as Americans, and seek to push the boundaries of the way we explore spiritual, social, economic, and political life. We seek to empower individuals and organizations to share stories, testimony, and experiences working to advance their individual lives, family, and communities. Communities are defined broadly as sustaining collective connection to another individual or group that has a cause, mission, or faith in something larger than the self. 

Our internal goals are to build stronger, more effective pathways to community building and advocacy by integrating spiritual, social, economic, and political traditions for the next generation. Our external goal is to provide clear, direct options for meet ups, community building, and idea exchanges from individuals who may interact within the same industry but would benefit from more structured opportunities available for them to do so.
